Metafilter / Metachat Chili Cookoff, the hacked edition. →[More:]Since Metafilter is down and I'm guessing it took my chili cookoff thread in MeTa with it, I figure I'll throw something up here since there seemed to be interest. The idea came from an AskMe thread this week.
Here's the short of it:
40 people submit recipes for consideration and to participate in the cooking.
As many people (in addition to the contestants) can cook and judge as want to participate.
Four weeks, four rounds of judging. If you want to play, you're committing to make one batch a week.
Prize: bragging rights.
Judging will be done anonymously and will be based on a scale of 1-10 on 5 criteria.
Those with dietary issues can note that on the sign up sheet and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Keep in mind that simple = good, because if someone can't find an ingredient in your recipe, that may very well negatively impact your points.
Sign up sheet will be up Monday and competition begins on 2/1. At this point, I'm just seeing if there's enough interest to make this doable.
