Oh, wow, wow... A Metatalk request to find an old Mefi post led me to 100 x 100 (photo gallery of 100 people in their 10 foot x 10 foot apartments in Hong Kong), which I had managed to miss back when. I'm pointing it out in case you missed it, too, because it's just fascinating. →[More:]

Could you do it? Many of us have a fondness for weeny living spaces... at least in theory, but 10 feet by 10 feet?

Actually, I have a friend in NYC whose place might be even smaller, but whoah... many people have closets bigger than this.

having lived in my fair share of dorms and new york sized apartments, i wonder at the dourness of all the apartments. No windows, few apartments with organization, it makes me very sad to see so many elderly in such a state. Then again, I'm making assumptions based upon the photos which could have been taken with a certain tone and bad timing for many.

that being said, i'm sure they are at least happy to be self supporting and i bet there's a great sense of community in that building.

Wow. I looked at one apartment in Boston that was probably 300 sf, at most. A young couple was living there with their newborn. I always thought that was the worst apartment I'd ever seen, and had to be among the smallest evar. These are so tiny. It makes me grateful for where I live.

One of my first reactions to this was that the rooms look like college dorms, what with the bunk beds and the fridges in the rooms and the modular shelving.

Which means that the people living in those rooms are the oldest co-eds ever.

And that was a terrible joke to make.
