When the cats are away... ...the mice here in this office are goofing off, slacking off, looking at supermodels on Facebook, and gossiping about what porn stores they live near or would like to visit.

And this is just the women.[More:]

I really like my new work environment. When I had a bad Wednesday evening, the other assistant talked me through it because she and I have really bonded over our boss, who is in Europe right now.

And the gals on the other side of the cube wall are cool, even if I think they're hotter than I am. They're totally not stuck-up like I thought they were.

I like it here.
My cat's away too, but there's a block on both Facebook and Metafilter. *whimper*

But, we went to Papa Gino's for lunch, and have gotten no work done.

Glad you're happy, TL!! There's nothing like enjoying where you have to be all day.

All the bosses were gone all week, except I was at a training class so I didn't get to benefit. :(

The training class was good, though. Our capstone project was to create a 15 minute presentation (on the subject) in less than 30 minutes, and my team totally hit it out of the park.

My boss is here, but there's actually no real work to be done. I've spent most of the morning doing my NaNoWriMo Novel (34k words now, woohoo!)

Sounds like a fun place to work. In our meagre breakroom (mismatched school chairs around two long tables, some filing cabinets, a small smelly refrigerator, and a microwave a teacher bought for us -- no coffee, no snacks, but fruitflies and mice), we mainly gripe and decompress before the next class of little "monsters," as I affectionately like to call them.

The room does tend to quiet down when our principal walks in. He's a pretty hands-off (aka lazy) boss, but he has his buddy/new Assistant Principal henchman to do his dirty work now. Luckily, they leave me alone, for the most part. They like my numbers (state test scores, pass rates, etc.). Hope it stays that way.

I'm away. The cat didn't take next week off. Which, in a way, is far, far better. Heheh.

Pips: Appreciate "lazy" while you got it. My wife's new (high school) principal is a control freak who writes up teachers for not greeting students at the classroom door, and suspends teachers for giving rides home to students (which is allowed with parental permission per district policy).
