I had wanted to take both my parents to Europe, but my mother died before I had the opportunity. I took my father and we got to rebond after these three decades of my own career and raising my son.

The cruise was 16 days with stops in the Caribbean, Madeira island, and Spain with the final departure in Genoa. We took trains to Florence and Venice, then north to Bolzano, Munich and Amsterdam. We stayed in hostels, which is its own unique experience.

The trip was somewhat of a whirlwind, so I didn't have time to do more than grab snapshots with my camera on Auto. I had hoped to get better pictures, but the experience with my father was more important.

A family crisis prevented me from getting around to going through and cropping my pics until this week. These are some of the better and more interesting shots. I should have more next week.
