You WILL sit nicely and watch this documentary, Bailey ... [More:]

Quite obviously, I'm a cruel cat owner because my cats are deprived of mental stimulation. Here they are not being stimulated. I dread to think of the horrible ways they would find to kill me if I forced them to be entertained.
There goes government, widening the gap between haves and have-nots. Won't somebody think of the strays?

"It also advises providing a separate litter tray for each cat." When Whitey Ford moved in we put out a second litter box just in case. They use one to poop in and the other to pee in. Poop right, pee left.

Cat and dog owners are to be told to provide "entertainment" and "mental stimulation" for their pets under new government advice.

You should get her an account here. And a little camera.

She could do "OMG! Hooman!" posts.

hee.

It's meant well, I know... but I just wonder what they are going to do when people start calling up charging their neighbors with failing to provide mental stimulation to their cats. I wouldn't want to be the officer making that house call. Most cats seem supremely able to provide their own stimulation, though not all. My upstairs neighbor has a cat that acts like a dog in that way... He's pretty miserable AND VERY, VERY, VOCAL without a claimed person around, even though he has another cat companion that he gets along with just fine. So far, in addition to his owner, he's also claimed the other neighbors. I have resisted his wiles, however. At first, because I was still hoping to get a cat when we moved here, so I didn't want our apartment to be another cat's "territory". Then I had this idea about a dog... Now he's not so eager to invade, though he does exhibit some curiosity about Sky, and seems willing to commune from a safe distance.

Ok, I'm USAian, but my cat is elderly and um, special needs (not smrt). It would be cruel to mentally stimulate him. Let The Cats Loaf, say I.

I mentally stimulated my cat by throwing pans at him. And books. (but not Dan Brown LOL)

*and they call me cruel*
