ELECTION HALP! It occured to me today that I am going to be called upon to vote for Washington State Supreme court justices tomorrow... and I know nothing about the candidates! →[More:]I have been trying to find a website that will give me an inkling as to what their voting records or viewpoints on certain things are (mainly gay rights and women's health). I am coming up empty handed. I know there are 3rd party websites comparing other issues and candidates, but not for state justices?

Anyone have any ideas?

How do you decide when you get to the booth and there is something you aren't prepared for?

Not sure of your politics, but the IRFH household got an assist this year from the Progressive Voter's Guide.

See, that would be perfect, except it doesn't say anything about the supreme court justices. I printed it out anyway to take with me tomorrow. I actually saw some things I want to investigate further before I go in.

Look at your state and local bar association websites; the local bar associations usually have a judicial candidate evaluation process. It's not entirely toothless, but you will get very very carefully neutral "recommended" and "not recommended" ratings.

evilcupcakes, the candidates are unopposed in the general election, apparently b/c they received more than 50% of the total votes in the primaries.

Your only choice at this point is to cast a ballot for the winner, or to not cast a ballot.
