I have something to tell you. Something big. →[More:]

See the bunny? The bunny pinned to the bouquet? essexjan gave me that bunny. It was my something new and my something blue.

I think TheDonF and I have made MetaChat history. We call first couple-who-met-on-MetaChat-and-got-married!

It all started in this thread. Thank you so much, bunnies, for being here. Really.

And special thanks and lots of whuffles to cmonkey and essexjan for serving as our witnesses!

I had never been a bridesmaid before (despite sister's six weddings) so this was a very, very special day for me to share with Specklet and TheDonF.

The funniest part was when cmonkey and I were waiting outside as Specklet and TheDonF went and filled out the forms before the ceremony. A member of staff came out and asked if we were the next couple to get married. cmonkey practically screamed and almost had a heart attack on the spot.

Yep, as soon as I heard that Jan had never been a bridesmaid (despite her sister's six weddings) I decided on the spot that she would be mine. And so she was! Packing Burger King crowns and a blue bunny!

That's a really beautiful building- is that the local City Hall? New York City is in the process of building a beautiful new place for civil ceremonies, which I think is nice.

It's the City Hall in Brighton, where we had a simple civil ceremony. It was very pretty and more heartfelt than we had anticipated, really very sweet. (We're going to have a full-on wedding with family in a few months, this was just for us. And cmonkey and essexjan.)

Also, as I was sort of mother-of-the-bride-in-loco-parentis, I made sure that I fulfilled my responsibilities and had "the talk" with Specklet about what to expect, you know, on The Wedding Night.

I told her that it was best just to lie back and think of England, that it was an ordeal, but it would all be over in just a few seconds.

Thankfully, she survived it.

It really was a very nice ceremony, and Mr. Love was pretty great. I think you guys should see if he can officiate at the full ceremony in the UK.
