Ever wonder who New York voted for in 1812? The familiar red/blue electoral college map... going back to the first US elections. (where you see a lot more than red and blue)[More:]I thought it was pretty neat to see the states spread out from coast to coast gradually, and a big chunk suddenly go grey for the civil war. They also have very brief notes on the major issues during each election.

Neat! I wish they would add definitions for Republican and Democrat with each map. Haven't the definitions changed many times?

Yes, wish they had at least links to wikipedia articles on parties.. States Rights, Whig, Democrat-Republican, Federalist, etc. Neat find!

Huh, who knew that Vermont was reliably Republican until '92?

To be fair, wikipedia has electoral maps for every US presidential election (unless they've all been deletionized). And the articles you're looking for will be right there, since it's wikipedia.

Delete. Never heard of this "United States presidential election, 1824". -- squirmy (u/t)

Delete. Is it even possible to google sources for something that happened in 1824? Unlikely. -- flibbertigibbet

Strong delete. The U.S. presidential system as a whole is notable, but putting in the details for each individual election is just fanwankery. -- Moorhouse
