Put my sweet Emma down last night... →
[More:]It's been a rather rough 14 hours. She was an 18 y.o. kitty and we knew it was coming, but it was really sad to see her go. We got home around 11 last night and she had just started the convulsions. So, in some sense, it was really nice that we got to spend some time with her and say goodbye. I really wanted to hold her little paw as she faded away, like I got to do with my old dog 25 years ago, but the doctor came in and said she was gone the second they put the catheter in. She was a real trooper and I'm amazed she lived as long as she did.
Interesting little factoids - the Doctor's name was also Emma, and the confirmation number on the credit card transaction was the birth date of the receptionist.
