-A 12 pack of Coke Zero with five cans in it. Despite the fact that it is sweet sweet nectar, I'll never drink them, because after the 7th can, I realized that all of the ones from this particular pack taste rather terrible.

I like when people ask about my pictures, because if they say "Is that your husband?" I say "one of them." If they say "is that your baby?" I simply say "no." "Are those your pets?" Yeah, that's them. I don't have a snappy answer for that one.

- 2 troll dolls
- Small panasonic digital camera which someone lost the cord to so I can't get the damn pictures off it. And I need them.
- Ugly "Life of the Arts 1989" mug full of pens and rulers and so on in it. It predates my tenure in this office. Come to think of it, it's entirely possible that mug has been sitting on this desk with the same pencils in it since 1989.

A blueberry, peach & banana smoothie with Greek yogurt, OJ, and local wildflower honey (yum) that elizard just made for me. Greek yogurt rocks and should be consumed as often as possible, btw.

A copy of John Scalzi's "The Last Colony" that I bought yesterday at Barnes & Noble and which I plan on finishing in the next hour or so. Unless I remain sucked into the 'tubes.

A set of broken iPod earbuds that were gnawed on by brown retarded cats. I hate them so. The cats, that is.

A stack of yellow legal pads because I keep breaking out a new one every time I misplace the old one and I just found all of them.

A copy of The Economist dated July 12 that I haven't gotten around to reading yet.

1. Solar-powered head-nodding penguin. Apparently, he's on a Japanese children's television program, though I don't watch Japanese children's television. But this penguin just nods his head all day, and I find it very reassuring. And somebody who's very important to me has the same penguin on their desk, which, yeah, even more so.
2. Stack of CDs including Edwin McCain, Natalie Imbruglia, Tonic and the Romeo and Juliet (Leo/Claire) soundtrack. I've been doing occasional free tables at the library, and these, well, I literally can't give 'em away.
3. Atlas of Sperm Morphology. This old science book is not as funny as one might hope, but I haven't gotten rid of it yet.
4. Signs talking about computer outages, which I keep meaning to go downtown and laminate.
5. Copy of Skinny Bitch in the Kitch, which a girl at my grocery store wanted to check out.

3. A ruler that says "McGraw Hill Math Measures Up to the Standards"

5. The hilarious haggadah that my friends wrote for Passover last year.
Excerpt:
Moses: I tried warning Pharoah before the next plague. I told him that the next plague is ice, covered in fire, falling form the sky. I said "I'm not speaking metaphorically, this is literally ice smothered in flame, plunging towards the Earth. I shit you not."
Pharoah: In what I still believe what my biggest error in judgment, I was convinced that he was shitting me. Who could comprehend ice covered in fire? Who could make such a thing? Fire melts ice, then the water would quench the fire. How could it possibly work otherwise?
