What are your latest food obsessisons? [More:]I go through phases where I eat the same foods a lot. Like, every week. After a few weeks, they tend to naturally fall out of the rotation. Right now, it's:

*Baked eggs
*My mom's cinnamon toast (toast with butter, mounds of brown sugar and cinnamon)
*Brushcetta

What's on your radar?
oatmeal raisin cookies. yum.

You all are going to be sad you asked. Because you are going to want this.

I take a Viccolo cornmeal-crust goat-cheese-and-tomato pizza. I coat with a thin layer of fig spread. Then I add ripped up prosciutto on top. Bake. Yummmm!

Back in Phoenix, I used to enjoying eating bruschetta at this place. It was in a cool old renovated post office.

I just had some fruity pebbles. I've been getting into peanut butter whoppers lately, too.

South.

Beach.

Diet.

It worked three years ago; I lost 70 lb. I gained most of it back though, so here we go again.

My husband works next to a person that makes homemade popcorn. Most every Sunday he comes home with a giant bag of free popcorn. Either cheese or Kettle Corn. I eat a lot of it on Sunday night.

I have made Parmesan and bread crumb coated baked chicken breasts twice this week.

I eat a lot of cereal. I love Wheat Chex.

Today for lunch I had canned baked beans and a piece of wheat bread with butter. I love baked beans.

Earlier this summer I was on a BLT on French bread kick.

- Plain pasta with olive oil, cracked pepper, sea salt, torn basil, squeeze of fresh lemon and really good parmasan cheese.

- Dumplings from the Shanghai Dumpling place, in grotty old Tattersals lane, in Melbourne. Especially the spring onion pancake, the chicken and prawn dumplings, the chinese broccoli in oyster sauce, the shanghai pork mini-buns, and the friend and or steamed pork dumplings.

- Snickers flavoured Pods. (little biscuits with chocolate and peanut buttery caramel stuff inside... mmmmmmmmmm)

So help me, sardines.

AMEN, lleachie. I love sardines right now. I can eat them out of the tin, but I'm also eating a lot of Trader Joe's frozen mac'n'cheese and sardines and Parmesan stirred up into a kind of smooshy casserole. It's total comfort food.

Also I have a craving for tagines right now. I'm making one in two days (I have to roast the chicken first).

And I just picked up some raw (unpasteurized) milk from the farmer's market on Saturday. Between the feds' "Raw milk will kill you dead instantly!" and the raw foodies' "Raw milk will cure cancer and AIDS and also lead to world peace!" is some fairly tasty milk that has failed to kill me yet. It has also failed to cure my excema but I didn't really expect that.

So help me, sardines.

Yum. (seriously)

Eggs, either scrambled or fried or boiled. Doc told me 3 per week max, but lately it's often 2-3 a day.

Strong coffee and chocolate chip cookies.

Vanilla ice cream and peanuts.

Did I mention that I could stand to lose a few pounds?

Oh Lordy, it's Olie Bollen (Dutch fried donuts). I can't tell you how good these things are - hot from the oil and smothered in sugar - when the weather is so cold, wet and disgusting outside. Full of dried fruit they are the ne plus ultra of donuts.

Peaches, plums and nectarines.

Olie Bollen? Wasn't he the singer for T-Rex?

I just can't seem to get enough fruit lately. And something I only learned to love in my 30s and also can't get enough of lately - soft-cooked eggs! Sunny side up or soft-boiled, mopping up the golden yolk with thick bread. Mmmmm.

Olives marinated in their own brine, olive oil, crushed garlic, cayenne, and whatever herbs I feel like picking from our window box. Served with water crackers and chevre.

I've never heard of "baked" eggs. Fried, scrambled, poached, boiled, pickled and a whole bunch of others, but never baked.

japanese, japanese & more japanese!

especially tonkotsu noodle soups - pork bone broth cooked over 12 hours or so. i've got two or three fucking excellent cheap japanese eateries within walking distance from work, plus two or four others that will do at a pinch for some sushi, sashimi or udon.

I'm totally on a pasta kick with my homemade tomato sauce. I take tomatos, quarter them, sautee them in butter and olive oil then I let them reduce to a couple of hours. After draining the pasta, I throw in some sauce and sautee this further, it gets the sauce to stick to the pasta better and has a richer flavour this way. Sometimes, if I'm feeling extra decadent, I'll sautee fresh shrimp or scallops in a little butter and olive oil and that in as well. I usually deglaze the fry pan with some watery sauce to make sure I get all the sea-foody goodness.

Thanks, now I'm hungry.

White cherries.
Broccoli rabe.

I was making my spicy broccoli rabe with pasta last night which I also made last week and have been craving ever since, but midway through cooking I got into a fight with my roommate and I must have screwed it up because it doesn't taste the same.
