I´m back! I´m finished with boot camp and set up at Nuke school. Boot camp was tough, but I´m glad I did it because it got me here. [More:]

I´ve never looked forward so much to hard work before. This place is great - as long as you work, you get as much help as you ask for. Most people are pretty nice.

South Carolina is nice, but very hot and humid. I´m on phase 1 liberty, so I haven´t gotten many chances to get off base. So far I´ve only been to a mall and to the movies. Any suggestions for things to do in the Charleston area?
Missed the spoleto... yeah, that's it for me. i never got to go to Charleston but always wanted to.

It depends on what you like to do. Downtown/the historic district is a hotbed of history and cool architecture and neat places to eat and shop. Being on a peninsula surrounded by rivers and the Atlantic Ocean, obviously water sports (no, not that kind) are big. Golf is huge, and we have some world-class courses.

And Spoleto is definitely a dont-miss when it comes back around in May.

A good place to start is here:

If you buy a cinnamon broom at the slave mart, for god's sake leave it in the plastic bag until you get home. Trust me.
