OMG TRUCK WHEEL!!! →[More:] We got back from vacation late Friday evening. Our original plan was to arrive home Saturday but the kid watching our house told us our refrigerator died Friday morning so we decided to drive on through.

Anyway.... coming through Nashville on I-65, we had a close encounter with a truck wheel. I don't know exactly where it came from except that we were traveling westbound and it came bouncing across the median from the eastbound traffic. I had to slam on my brakes and swerve to avoid it (thank God for ABS!)

It almost took out a motorcyclist a little behind us as well. As it turns out, we stopped at the same gas station they did about ten minutes later. The driver never saw the wheel (although it came within 10 feet of hitting him), but his adult daughter sitting behind him and let out a huge gasp that he couldn't figure out.

As far as I know, the wheel didn't cause any damage.
