Would you drink a BLTini? [More:]

I'm not sure I would like lettuce in my drink. No.
Maybe without the lettuce.

Strangely enough, that actually sounds pretty good!

yes, but I'd drink Sterno.

Yeah, it looks good. I thought they were going to use the bacon as the stirrer, which I think would make the bacon icky, but the way they served it looks great.

Flavorwise, it's not that different from a lot of other cocktails. Bacon can take the same flavor role as an olive - salty, fatty, and meaty. The tomato/lettuce combo is reminiscent of a Bloody Mary. The chives fit fine, kind of like the onion in a Gibson. So I don't think it's that freaky - it's a cutesy martini drink, but by far from the most objectionable of those I've ever seen!

I thought they would use the bacon as a stirrer too. I would probably drink it, but I wouldn't order it. Floating lettuce is kind of unappealing.

I had a bacon bloody mary where they used a slim jim as the stirrer. it was good.

I'm having an issue with the bacon....in my mind, bacon and beverages don't mix.

I had a greentini at a sushi bar last night - green tea, honey, vodka and a couple of other things I don't remember. It was awesome although it kind of tasted like a drink from another planet: unlike any beverage I've ever had anywhere, ever, before.

These days, anything in a martini glass is called a [blank]-tini. Pour some Schlitz in one? Milwaukee Martini. Malted Milk? Whoppertini. Pee in one? Masochistini.

It's getting out of hand.
