Originally, they seemed more avant-guard and edgy, but they slid, IMO, into just being cute and getting yucks. That, and the fact that there is only on original member lead to a shark-jump many years ago.

Well, daughter returns from the fair yesterday, something else that I am over, and reports that the Bobs were there (which I knew, but see above), and did an acapella MASHUP of Surfin' Bird by the Trashmen and Bird on the Wire by Leonard Cohen. Combining those songs is so brilliant and mind-boggling (I have spent too much time this morning, looking and not finding any YouTube or other evidence of this) that I may be forced to revisit their newer stuff.
