I'm a daddy! [More:]26 hours since we checked in, more than 16 hours of hard labor and a C-Section later. I'm the proud father of a beautiful baby girl named Sophie Rayne, 8 pounds and 6 ounces. It was insane, totally insane, and I think I am still numb and processing it all.

But she is beautiful, and all is well, though we are all exhausted. Mom is asleep at the hospital, I am home to shower and change and eat. My life will never be the same.

Pics and more details later, after a few days of recovering and kangaroo time. Kissing her little belly was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced.
"Kangaroo time." I love it.

Thrilled for you in this time of transformation. Congrats!

Woo-Hoo! My compliments to the chef.

(seriously, dude, congrats and may you have years of happiness with her)

What wonderful news! Congratulations! Welcome, Sophie.
And please take good care of mrs. tr33. People tend to forget that a c-section is major abdominal surgery. Baby her and let her heal.

c-sections don't affect the child much, except that now every time she leaves a building, she'll go through the window.

(actually my sister had both her kids through c-sections. It can be rough. take care of her)

Woot!! Yay!! Baby's are so cool. As Lou Reed sang the same year that my son was born, "It's the beginning of a great adventure". Have fun.

Welcome to the hardest and most wonderful and insane thing you will ever do with your life. Today I got covered in vomit literally from shoulders to feet, and the only thing I could think was BABY SCARED, MUST MAKE BETTER, GUARD CAVE WITH BIG STICK. This, in a nutshell, perfectly summarizes being a father to a helpless little baby.

It's seriously awesome, and it will change you in ways you even now cannot comprehend. So congratulations from the 'tool family, and all our best baby vomit to you.

Hooray! Babbies are teh awesome.
Important piece of advice - walking is important during C-section recovery, but watch the jokes - laughing hurts like a mofo.

The phone in Mrs. Plinth's room was ringing off the hook and I answered it "Stuart's House of Fun, We Deliver" right as Mrs. Plinth was coming out of the bathroom. The laughter pain nearly knocked her out.

HA! Plinth, I'm recovering from surgery involving a c-section-sized incision. Mr alto is a humorous chap, which caused him to receive many curses during the first two weeks, poor love.

Lifting things off the floor was also impossible for a week or so, and is still difficult a month later. Sneezing is a bastard but can't be helped unfortunately.

Everything is very very tiring. I can't even begin to imagine feeling like this and looking after a baby. Good luck to both of you, and congratulations!

It is SOOOOOO worth it all, tr33, you'll have a ball.
