Name Droppers - a new MuxTape : here's a new mux of 12 songs with titles that reference real people. [More:] Included are songs about (in order) a tenor voiced rock and roll pioneer, a silent film star that met with an unpleasant demise, 2 rock superstars, a man in black, a cubist that was never called an asshole, an LA TV newscaster, the king of late night TV, Dr Noah Drake, a pop art superstar, a crime author, a French structural engineer and architect, and the most shameless TV star ever.
Well done, Slackster. I've given that Overwhelming Colorfast song a good seven listens through tonight. I've no idea who the hell they are/were, but damn, that's a catchy tune.

But damn it, Alec Eiffel is amongst the maybe three or four Pixies songs that I can't effing stand. I like Trompe Le Monde more than your average sophomore Philosophy student, but that song just rubs me raw. So it goes.

That said, how difficult/hard is muxtape as far as uploading? I haven't bothered with it yet. That said, if the MeChaMods would withstand it, could it be a nice alternative to something I proposed some time ago, albeit in different and more legit vein? Maybe we could have MuxtapeMondays?

ufez - I like Overwhelming Colorfast quite a bit, but in my opinion that's their best song by a long shot. It's a song that I also tend to play over and over once I hear it. I think that song's about 15 years old. And on the Pixies, that's actually one of my favorite songs by them - it's so goofy and fun.

I think MuxTape is real easy to use, providing your songs are already in MP3 format. Everything I've added to my MP3 player is on my hard drive, so it's easy to just load up a Mux (12 songs took about 20 minutes). My friend who loaded all of his music through iTunes says that he can't just upload since I guess iTunes uses a different format. I'm not an Apple fan, so I'm not sure how true that is.

I would LOVE to do some kind of mix/mux Mondays thing. Especially if it were revolved around some kind of theme or game. Pretty much I'll endorse any excuse to talk about music and see what other people's take are on things.
