festival job update [
previously]
so, I called the guy who I'd be working for at the festival, partially for more details, partially to say I was interested.

Turns out I got a little ahead of myself and it's not yet an offer as much as it's a shortlisting; I think my chances are pretty good as is BUT: for the show (which is way out of town) they'd be putting me up in a cabin offsite - a 20 minute drive offsite, which would be trivial but I don't have a car (or a license. Long story.)
I told the potential boss as much, which means my chances of doing this dropped, a little, but I am currently wrangling bureaucracy to get myself licensed before going up there.
I told my parents, who weren't thrilled about seeing me gone but were apprehensive about the roads, especially since I'd be a new driver and the roads up northish are pretty awful; so now I have two new obstacles to mount before this thing is doable.
I'm going to get them done (as best I can) because this is the best break I've gotten in a while, and because I realized the bookstore basically represents me settling, and that's something I don't want to do.
