This is both (NSFW) cracking me up and depressing me. And, paradoxically, making me feel better about myself. [More:]It's very complicated.
Those are some awful fake boobs.

Hahahaha. Well it did the exact same thing to me.

I was thinking the same thing about the boobs. Is it the pose? Makeup?

But yeah, I've also got the same conflicting feelings that occhiblu does.

I just want to tell her to go back to school, kwim?

It took me awhile, then I got it. . .hilarious! The fact that I rented and watched Hairspray for the first time last night sort of adds to it, in a strange way.

I just got the latest Vanity Fair, and the cover with Angelina Jolie is just strange. She looks like a barbie doll.

www.gofugyourself.com had some commentary on the Angelina Jolie cover that I thought was funny.

Claudia, that cover is bizarre.

Well, no, I guess it's not bizarre, since every magazine cover seems to airbrush its models all to hell, but "bizarre" in that that cover (a) does not look like Angelina Jolie, at all, and (b) is extremely frightening.

I'm feeling all good about myself, because I don't understand who that woman is or how her looks relate to my existence in any way. Selective ignorance and I will be making chocolate chocolate chip waffles and homemade vanilla ice cream now.

I have a mixture of feelings and thoughts on this. One of them being that Ms. Thomas has a right to be angry that the Photoshop people screwed up, badly. This is quite the oversight. I have no idea who she is, but I assume she is doing these photos to further her career.

This is why I can't watch porn. I always feel bad for the women. She is so young and beautiful and now the Internet is seeing that she is a bit larger than portrayed and are pointing and laughing. The motherly side of me wants to tell her she doesn't have to do this. Also, I can't believe I am saying this but I think those fake boobs look pretty good for fake boobs.

Angelina is such a gorgeous human. I agree with GoFugYourself.

Do you think people are pointing and laughing at her? I was definitely pointing and laughing at the airbrusher, but I didn't read the comments on other sites, so I don't know. Though I guess you're right, that's probably the most common reaction. Which is sad.

I actually think it's kind of nice to see that even gorgeous people are not as gorgeous as they are presented -- not in a Schadenfreude kind of way, just in a "Oh, thank god, it *is* an unattainable standard!" sort of way. (On another site, someone described this realization as, "Even Katherine Heigl isn't as beautiful as Katherine Heigl.") And photoshopping screw-ups like these can, I'd hope, teach people that these "ideal" women and actual real-life women maybe aren't quite so far apart as they seem.

Or maybe some mean shopper changed the shadow of her left hip area, and not the actual hip.

There is always that possibility.

But again, it's unattainable to look like that and have any sort of "normal" life. Perhaps there should be a small disclaimer like that, like there are for prescription side effects, or the health risks of smoking.

Yes.

I completely agree with you, occhi.

I knew you were laughing at the airbrusher. I am too. I guess I was looking at it from a different angle, while all the time agreeing with your point and totally getting where you were coming from. I don't know what I'm saying or thinking half the time and I do drink coffee.

HEE! But you were definitely making sense; I just hadn't thought of it from that angle.
