argh! hope me MS keyboard users!! [More:]

gah. so the desk i'm currently using is infested with one of those MS Natural Ergonomic 4000 model split-key keyboards. I hate it with the burning passion of a thousand suns but [long story redacted] removal is not an option.

Some weird combination of fatfingering that I do keeps turning on the "soft keyboard" and enabling chinese characters, and once I'm there I can't get out.

How do I Make It Stop!!! I've had to kill my app / restart the machine in the middle of a busywork session twice now and I have too much shit to do this afternoon to keep hassling with this.

i will send hugs, gentle whuffles and my undying respect to the first respondent.
Unplug it (I just want the hugs and respect).

Is the soft keyboard the on-screen keyboard? That would be accessibility option that you can disable:
start > programs > accessories > either use the wizard or choose the on-screen keyboard to change options - disable.

The Chinese characters. . . go into the control panel and choose languages. remove any entries except English. Not sure that will work but you can try it.

ooh, ((((Monkeybutter))) ftw! *whuffles*. I bow respectfully to your Great Knowledge.

box, unplugging it makes the keyboard non-functional upon re-plug, thus requiring a hard boot and loss of time/work/sanity. Yes this is older MicroSuck architecture we're talking about.

you get hugs and respect tho anyway. And also here, for your entertainment, is a glimpse of me gaily feeding the trolls on our local cycling association forum the troll is the initial post, see my response(s) at bottom of thread
