Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you Tuscon, Arizona's gift to rock and roll. [More:] Four cowboy-hatted weirdos from the desert with tunes, humor and punk rock spirit to spare. I'm talking about the Supersuckers, baby. The men behind Bad Bad Bad, On The Couch (the Great Lost Slacker Anthem), and She's My Bitch (a tender love song. really). This is to say nothing of their legendary way with covers; of Willie Nelson, the Coasters, OutKast and (best of all) Judas Priest. So fasten your Stetson tight and jump in the pit.
I saw the Supersuckers several times during in the mid 90's and they never disappointed. What could have been a half assed gimmick was carried off by their dedication to it. And the fact that they fucking rocked didn't hurt either. "Creepy Jackalope Eye" is still one of my fave songs of the era.

One of my favorite concert moments would be near the end of their sets when they'd be backlit silhouetted and they'd all just hold up their guitars and bask in the frenzied crowd cheers.

And for a brief moment they were joined by one of my favorite rock & roll frontman (and apparently theirs too), Rick Sims of the Didjits (and later Gaza Strippers). I think even the Supersuckers weren't big enough to contain both Eddie Spaghetti AND Rick Sims. Now THAT was some rock.

Well, here's a bonus track (and as someone who works in a place that attracts a lot of tourists, I can wholeheartedly cheer this song on).

I was so expecting this to be about Alice Cooper, till I Googled and found out he lived in Phoenix, not Tucson.

I remember seeing them opening for someone at the Palace in LA, but I can't remember who.

You should put up "Non-Addictive Marijuana". That's a classic.
