Penne with sausage and tomato cream sauce. My partner has made this a couple of times and it is OMG so good. The leftover also heats up well in a microwave. Recipe inside.[More:]

1 lb. penne or other pasta
1 lb. breakfast sausage roll or other sausage
1 large Italian sausage link (optional- makes it spicier)
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce or 2 cups pasta sauce
1/2 to 3/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil (dried also works)
some hot sauce (optional)

Prepare pasta according to package directions. Brown both kinds of sausage in large skillet, breaking into some smaller pieces and larger chunks.

When cooked through, add tomato sauce and bring to a boil, scraping the bottom of the pan to un-stick any bits of sausage.

Add cream and season to taste with hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes to thicken sauce.

Add basil and pasta to sauce, and stir to coat the pasta.
Oh that looks like total comfort food. YUM.

If I wasn't so stuffed at the moment on greek food I would be craving this. I'll come back later when I'm less full and commence drooling.
