Holiday Weekend! Well, it's coming up on one for us in the USA. So, you off tomorrow? Monday? Both? Neither? What are your plans, bunnies?[More:] I'm off tomorrow and Monday, and I'll be at the Central VT meetup on Saturday, yipee!
My defense is on Monday. (Yes, it is a holiday here.) Whee!

I leave Saturday for 4 days in VEGAS, BABY! - except I'm going to be with my aging 78-year-old parents who love to gamble. I don't get a chance to see them often, so we'll see how it goes. I'll be at the pool with a book while they're at the casinos.

BBQ at our house on Monday. We end up doing a lot of entertaining here, somehow. This time I'm going to make it easier on myself and let people bring stuff. We'll have brats, burgers and beer, and I'll bake something for dessert. My friends can bring all the other dishes. The rest of the weekend will be Groundhog Day here .. take the rug rat to the park, keep him happy and reasonably clean, and enjoy the warmer weather.

My husband and son leave tomorrow night for West Virginia, and as soon as they leave, I start cleaning. Well, maybe not right when they leave, but soon after. I will whip out my fancy new cleaning supplies and hit every nook and cranny that I can reach in this house. Dust bunnies banished! Soap scum annihilated! Every surface scrubbed to shiny perfection!
Plus, I plan on watching WE tv and HGTV ad nauseum. I am also gonna make myself a cheesecake. Oh shit, I can't WAIT for the weekend.

The meet-up looks like a blast. I love Vermont.

Friday - pediatrician, gym, cleaning

Saturday - backyard gathering of neighborhood kids. Minor league baseball game with our kids, our friends and their kids. My parents are always there, but we probably won't be in their area. Too rowdy. ;-)

Sunday - somewhere trail-walking with the parents if they aren't too hung over from baseball game and if the weather is good. Maybe DeLeon Springs.

Monday - beach

I'm meeting up with a couple of my best friends for a girls' weekend. I live in southern CA and they live near the Bay Area, so we're meeting up at a little coastal town in central CA. The three of us haven't been together without someone's significant other in at least three or four years, so we're very excited!

Chilling back in New York, after the most relaxing vacation EVAR.

I have the worst cold ever. Wasn't planning on being off tomorrow, but I think it's necessary. Took today, too. My principal's gonna give me dirty looks on Tuesday.

Jon's been very sympathetic. He gets me juice.

We have a tons of things to do around the house, but I am hoping to instead relax and read, watch a few movies, and maybe make a mix disc. The only thing I know for sure is that there will be grilling and a few beers involved. Hopefully Mrs Slack doesn't take charge and I end up painting, cleaning out the garage, and getting flowers for our fron walkway.

I'm currently on vacation at my friend's house in NY. In an hour or so, we are heading to NYC for the weekend and then I roll on down to Virginia Beach for a few days to chill out and read trashy novels.

Working today, and I have a class all day on Saturday (on spousal/partner abuse. Should be an upper! Sigh).

Sunday and Monday I have no plans, and I'm off until 3:30 on Tuesday, when I have another class. I'm hoping there will be yoga and gym-going and walking outside. There needs to be sleeping. There will probably be reading and bad-tv - watching.

I have an inclination to go to the zoo, actually, but (1) the zoo on Memorial Day weekend might be a little kid-intense and (2) I've heard kind of mixed things about the SF Zoo, and I'm still a little worried that it's going to be lots of little depressing cages.

Plus, you know, tiger attacks.

I wanted to go away somewhere with the new temporary boyfriend (he is leaving town to move to Ohio in June. boo), but he is catsitting in Washing ton Heights, so we are going to pretend we are on vacation in the Caribbean in his apartment.
I am all packed. I have clothes, my toothbrush, my camera, and a bikini just in case!
I am really excited! My roommate is taking care of the bunny and everything is all set. I'm not going to set foot below 100th street to preserve the illusion of being somewhere completely different. I think it will be fun, but it means I will miss the meetup :(
