Summer Vacation [More:]I need a vacation. A tropical vacation where I'm sipping drinks in a lawn chair and fishing and boating and eating fish. Yes, I can do that here, but it's not the same.

Here is some music for the vacation mood.

The Girl from Ipanema

You're the Ocean

Is This Love

Run River
Link malfunction above.

Is This Love by Bob Marley

"The Girl From Ipanema" is like taking a vacation in your mind. I find myself reclining on some classy Euro-style patio overlooking a gorgeous beach, cold alcoholic drink in hand, sometime in the early 1960s. Thanks for these, Lori. :)

Yeah... the saxophone in The Girl From Ipanema is just...... superb.

You are welcome, guys. It is a great song. I love it.

Here is another that conjures up a vacation in your mind. You might get the urge to do the samba on the beach, though. Mais Que Nada by Sergio Mendes.

Here's another Ipanema by Sammy Davis Jr. because you can never have enough versions of this tune in your library. Also, more Astrud Gilberto with Fly Me To The Moon.

Now I'll go back to my vacation fantasy where I'm wearing a linen suit, jacket slung over my shoulder, bare-chested, brandy in hand, on a South American veranda, overlooking a windy South American sea. Won't you join me for a drink, lover? And later, we'll go to the casino and play baccarat and drink dry martini's until sunrise.

Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles conjure up that vacation mood for me: listen, for example, to Comodon Johnson & Playa Azul.

That "Fly Me to the Moon" is beautiful, MonkeyButter. Thanks!

As is, Los Amigos Invisibles. I need to get some of their stuff. I think I have one song of theirs.

My pleasure! Stan Getz / Astrud Gilberto stuff is wonderful. And, I also am liking Los Amigos Invisibles. Good stuff all-round.
