So I had that meeting today. Not sacked, tho they aren't happy. Most of their complaints are an absolute surprise to me.

The thing was, the "meeting" took place at a hippy bullshit festival and they kept interrupting it to interact with children, talk to their friends, and so on.

That is NOT how you have a meeting! NOT NOT NOT! Focus, fuckers.

I am really glad to stop and smell the roses etc and if you invited me to the event, fine. But I had places to go and I did not want to chat for five minutes to the stranger you introduced me to while you went off and talked to someone else.

I did talk to her, and my complaint to you shits was not a complaint at all, just a smile (remembered the eyes and all) and the question, "would you like to reschedule maybe?"

I'll have you know that a meeting where you know you're gonna get criticised is much worse for the person getting the criticism, and you can have the shred of respect required to value that person enough to be there for the meeting.

i hate hippies so much. It's so shitty to impose your little children on our meeting, cute as they are. If you don't have time today, let's do it another day, ok? When you have time to sit down in a quiet place with me while we talk and try to work out a solution.

I will so be resigning in the next few weeks, on to the new job.

p.s. My whole series of postings here may make me look like a Problem Person, but I don't care! i'm on this earth to pet kittens, make art and activism, not to work. I'll give The New Job a solid go, and if it doesn't work, maybe I'll bite the bullet and go on incapacity benefit.
