1. New job is kicking my ass, but I am very highly valued!
2. According to a former co-employee, they talk of me fondly at DumbCo. As in, "Dude, I really need to find a new job, quit this one, and get on with my life--just like Trisha did."
3. I'M MOVING TO HARLEM AT THE END OF THIS MONTH!!! Need to pack, and start selling off furniture, and help my landlord find someone new to take over the lease, and...

2. Went out yesterday blowing my bonus money. Drank a lotta booze with ol' Hugh Janus. Bought a box set that includes a song called 'Big Idiot Buys A Pig.'

1. Work is going to be very slow from now until September and I really don't feel motivated to do anything. And yes, I have only been here for a half hour and have already done everything that needs to be done. Goddamnit, I guess I'm going to have to go mapping after all.

2. I am so full of squee about the teaser Twilight trailer that came out yesterday that it's INSANE.

3. I really need to hear from my friend about how long our actual vacation is going to be because if she can't get babysitting, I'm going to have to find something to do with myself (because I'm definitely not going to sit in my parents house and be bitched at for a week. That's not a vacation, that's every goddamn day.)

1. Was finally able to make MeTa post about Specklet in NY--am somewhat puzzled that no one has responded to it.
2. Enjoyed meeting new people at the meetup Sunday.
3.My broker is moving to a new company and I need to see if I can transfer the loan for the condo from the old firm so that I don't have to pay a huge capital gains tax.

1. Irritated with my staff, who like to get het up about minor things, gossip amongst themselves, and then walk around bruised and sulky. It's like being headmistress at a girls' school sometimes.

1. Still somewhat shell shocked. Sigh.

2. Had to go to DMV and get license renewed this morning. Less painful than expected but not cheap.

3. Something ate all my lettuce and two tomato seedlings down to the ground last night. Grrrrrrrrr.
3a) WTF would eat all the leaves off tomato seedlings, leaving them sad little sticks? The lettuce I understand (kill the bunnies! Kill the bunnies!) but I've never lost tomatoes like that before.

1. Looks like another gorgeous day. In fact, it may be gorgeous all week. Thank goodness. Those 3-day weeks may be relaxing, but not so good for paying the bills. It's hard working in the hot (to me, after so much cold) sun right beside a swimming pool, though--sooo tempting to just jump in, but I suspect that even these wonderfully nice clients would look askance at that. (And they are exceptionally nice. She makes us cookies and really good coffee every morning, even.)

2. Relieved to have solved they housing/storage problems looming at the end of the month, and in such a way that I have a place to live when I get back. Still dunno what's going to happen with the cats, though.

3. Wishing I were meeting up with BP and BOP on Thursday.

mgl--the only time that happened to my tomatoes, it was deer. Fucking deer. They're like huge, behoofed rats, eating their way through everything. Or maybe slugs? Do you have slugs there?

1. Apparently the sellers signed the contract two Thursdays ago. That's 12 days. First they said they didn't put enough postage on the package, then they said they FedExed it. That was Friday. This is Tuesday. I smell bullshit, and it's pissing me off. It's even more frustrating when you don't know where to direct your frustration.

2. Dreamed kids ripped off my cat's front leg. I held her in my arms and she cried with me before dying. Sweet, weird and sad.

3. Cold/allergy cough still hanging on. Leave me be!

2) At least today's interview is over, so I am vegging out right now

1. Sister is in NYC with her school trip. I think she's in charge, which is frightening, as she's not at all organized. Several calls received today already looking for directions.
2. Relying on the internet for directions is bad, as there's no way to confirm what's up on the page is still correct.

1) Sick with stress about moving to Seattle. Flying up this weekend and trying to sign a lease. Trying not to think about the pending end-of-relationship included in the whole moving-to-Seattle package.

2) Doing laundry, except someone sneaked in ahead of me and took two of the washers and one of the dryers has a quarter jammed in the slot and is unusable.

3) Just took the stress inventory and scored 382. That sounds about right. And the next few months will be no better.

1. The morning at work sucked, having to deal with angry people who think that if they shout loud enough they'll get what they want. Not with me they won't. Don't you realise, sir, that the instant you raise your voice to me you've already lost?

2. But I went for a walk around the dock in the beautiful springtime sunshine and for the first day this year I was able to wear sunglasses. And no jacket! The grebes, coots and swans are all nesting around the dock and hopefully their chicks and cygnets will be hatched soon. It's such a lovely time of year. I feel happy.

3. I came home to find a cheque for a refund of something I wasn't expecting. Free money!

3. On my way back to the office, I saw two men walking down the street holding hands.

1) We probably just got a huge huge grant at work. Which will have a new, more highly paid position I might apply for. Got invited out with our ED, Development Director, Board chair and (probable) funder for lunch. We had to pay ourselves. If I'd have realized that I'd have begged off.
2) Like Miko, having to deal with staff who calls ED "Momma" behind her back and wear jeans and arrive late if they think they won't get caught.
3) Paid bills. My electricity provider is a PITA to work with. I've been trying to set up autopay for, oh, 6 months now, but it hasn't worked. I keep getting PAY YOUR BILL OR WE'RE DISCONNECTING messages, because I think I've already paid. YEESH.

I overstated the case. According to a leaked memo, they are merely REQUESTING that folks not take their vacations during that time.

That makes much more sense.

1. Having handed in my final essays this afternoon, I am done with the semester.
2. I knocked my sleep cycle off its axis getting through the last few projects; I'm pretty wobbly.
3. Tomorrow is Mom's birthday, so soon I have to heave myself up off my butt and make flourless chocolate cake. Thank goodness I'm taking her out tomorrow. Usually, I finish finals just in time to make hors d'oeuvres for a giant birthday party.

2. He can't tell me who is getting laid off tomorrow, but two people in my dept. for sure.
3. My dept. is only 5 people.
