Did you do your thing? [More:]Occhiblu cooked a delicious pizza. Elsa studied. How about everyone else?

I cleaned the hellhole that is called a bedroom. I feel human again. I even washed my furniture with Murphy's Oil soap. Clean glorious clean.

Report your successes, or your good intentions, here.
Nope. Uhhhm, but I have a good excuse?

No. I lack motivation to tackle personal things.

I've been so busy I didn't even see that thread. BUT, yesterday I finished a momumentous task I've been putting off for five years - cleaned out the basement (ended up with six large garbage bags of stuff to the mission, and TEN large garbage bags of straight-up trash, plus stuff that wouldn't fit in a bag), put an oil-based WaterTite paint on all the walls, and an epoxy finish on the floor. It took me five weeks of being down there after work and weekends. All part of the getting the house ready for baby process.

And we are almost there. I'm going to Chicago next week for a conference, and while I'm gone the in-laws plan to finisht the remaining tasks - baseboard in the play room, paint the crib for the nursery, and a few other small things.

Sadly, I've been so busy I've totally put off studying for my CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting certification) exam, and it's MONDAY. I plan to fail in the most glorious of ways.

Well, it rained most of the week/weekend, so instead of working in the backyard, I worked on decluttering inside the house. Since I was feeling overwhelmed, I started small -- the linen closet. Then I proceeded to the upstairs bathroom. Then I switched out the summer and winter clothes in my closet, and straightened up the bedroom. In the process, I put aside a ton of stuff to donate and two bags of actual trash to get rid of. I felt wonderful and productive and clean and like I could actually breathe again. Whee.

Now I just need to get the "To Be Donated" stuff out of the house.

I did! I studied my head off (well, nearly), and yesterday when the prof returned the tests (on which I was hoping for an A- but expecting a B), I had an A+ for each.

*dances just a little bit*

So... that was a nice surprise.

Next week I'll be following the good example of everyone here, and cleaning up the apartment. Or the week after that.

I didn't do my thing, but I did a different thing. Then I had to reschedule the meeting about the first thing.

Yes, I've been exercising more. I've not lost any weight but I haz biceps!

Hee. I also did that lentil and lamb stew, which was actually my "new thing," since I had made the pizza before. But I hadn't made the pizza in a while, and it turned out better than the stew, so I'll take credit for that, too.

I have been doing all sorts of cardio exercise, which has seriously improved my outlook on life, but I think I want to start adding in weight work, so that I can defend myself when essexjan comes after me with those big guns she's sporting. :-)

So that's my next thing. Oh, and that stupid final project I have to do for my last class this semester. Argh.

I didn't want to say it in the last thread because by announcing it I feel jinxed. But because of your thread I *did* start a new program. Thanks, Lori! I got a handful of workout DVDs and it has been awesome. I love the new videos because so many of them focus on strength training, not like those cardio obsessed ones from the 80s and 90s, and they push me much harder than I push myself.

I especially love the Tanja Djelevic videos. She's not all hyper and faux perky, and they always shoot in front of beautiful serene backgrounds. Plus, she kicks my ass. (In case anyone was interested, I guess.)

Missed the thread, but I did a whole lot of stuff on the weekend, including repotting all of my plants and baking three batches of biscuits and taking stuff to our storage unit and and downloading the TV shows from the first two weeks of April (catching up!) and spending five hours at the office knocking off my ever-growing pile of overdue paperwork and changing the duvet to the summer one and a social gathering and... yeah. It was a nice day Saturday which made me want to be productive all weekend.

You're welcome, birdie. Good for you. I haven't heard of Tanja Djelevic. I'll have to check her out.

Here are some pics of my clean bedroom. Gold star for me.

This week I will not order takeout more than once.
