... every bit of me is singing with happiness. Sitting in the sun, eating and chatting and playing with the niece --- it was perfect. Though I conceived this as a favor to The Fella's family, it turned out to be exactly what I needed, too.

What good thing can you do for yourself today?

Well, last night when I had to abandon my studying to prep the picnic basket, I thought myself a fool for proposing it. But it was totally restorative --- I feel like a new person.

I must do this more often.

Hmm... MeCha picnic meet-up? Maybe this summer?

I love a picnic! A MeCha picnic would be a great idea.

For myself (having taken today and tomorrow off from work), I went to a garden center and wandered around ridiculously expensive fountains and sculptures; fell in love with a dozen plants; and got a slight tan in the process. Then Mr. V and I abandoned the kids for dinner at a new restaurant. It's been a grand day.
