Clever, amusing, kind of adorable. Lauren Thompson choreographs an in-synch dance performance with her four-year-old self caught on video. [youtube] [More:]

Has everyone seen this a million times already? I have no idea. I happened across it at the morning news, and loved it. Bring on the big pink bunny if I'm D'oh!

The fact it's being done to "Hip To Be Square" adds a weird spin on it to me because i so revile that song and the evil Huey Lewis.

Otherwise, i want more show and tell.
It must be weird to grow up always having video.

1987? She should do it again, with two video screens, one of the 4 year old, one of the linked performance, but both screens smaller, so the audience can focus on her dancing (I bet she's still dancing, seems like a lifer), and use classical music instead of the same music. That'd be cool.

Hey! My performance degree is talking!

Ok, it's shut up now. Definately cute, and no, I hadn't seen it.

Oh, wait, maybe the first video was from 1987. . .

I still say the video screen took up too much attention. . .

It's interesting how much more mannered her adult movements are - as you'd expect, of course, but it is still interesting to see the difference between trained and untrained dance. Like, when the little girl version spins, she just spins, whir! When the grownup dancer spins, she has perfect footwork and snaps her head around just so.

But man, even when she was 4 she had quite a pop dance vocabulary, huh?
