16 April 2008

New creature for the chewie household! We are headed to VA and MD this weekend for two purposes: 1. partying w/ friends we haven't seen in over 2 years, and 2. picking up our new 8 week old yellow lab pup!![More:]

Gonna be a lotta driving, but we're really excited!! His mama (Curry) & littermates are here, we don't know which kielbasa is ours in any of the pics, but they are seriously teh kyoot.

We'll probably cry when we see them - I told mrs chewie I really want to give Curry a hug and thank her for her hard work - this is her last litter. Curry looks a lot like Betty did. *sniff*

I can't wait to see his eyebrow antennas and walk in the woods with him and take him swimming and feed him and let him destroy the new chew toys we got for him. mrs chewie brought the crate home last night, ready for him.

It's gonna freak out the other three 4 leggers for a bit, but they will work it out. They're rescues, so they've seen worse!

Goodie! Pics 1st of the week.
Ooooooh! Little sausage puppies!! So sweet!
Congrats!

This should be a very emotional and a very good trip. Beautiful time of year to visit the Eastern Shore, too. Have a great time. Oh yeah, OMG PUPPEH!

Baby labs! Want one in my lap!

Though when Lennon became a she-bear I faced the consequences of letting her do this. :-)

Cool. We have friends who do lab rescue and they (of course) have a few of their own that they've adopted. Such good pups. You'll be showered with love and doggie kisses!

YAY for PUPPIES! Fantastic chewie!!! The other monsters will certainly adjust well to the new monster. Man, I am jealous! Though, my own new one is doing wonderfully.

Also, when riding back, it is best for someone to hold the new monster in their lap. Helps with the change from one dog pack to another. Or so they say. It's also a great excuse to be holding a puppy in your lap. Silver slept in my lap all the way home....

Is Betty gone? I missed that. So sorry to hear it. :(

But yay! Puppy!

Yeah, we lost Betty back in February :( But yes indeed - yay puppy!

eekacat that is so sweet about Silver! mrs chewie gets the first honors of pooch lap napping. Hopefully he won't be barfing all over the place. Did Silver get car sick?
posted by chewatadistance 16 April | 16:47
Heh, chewie. The breeder threatened that it might happen, and sent Silver home with a towel. She even apologized that he just got fed and ate a lot. After the first couple of miles he just curled up and went to sleep with his head in the crook of my arm. Looked up once in awhile, but put his head right back down and went back to sleep. No sickies or anything! The breeder also suggested that I hold Silver in my lap since he'd probably end up there anyways. A little awkward at first since I was by myself, but he settled right down.

Masha rode in my lap on the way home. I was clueless, she did it on her own volition, rather than sleep on the blankie in the passenger seat.

Lennon was in my lap too.
