Niagara A 1953 film noir starring Marilyn Monroe as the bad guy girl! We watched this today, and it's awesome.[More:] The DVD is out there- we found it at the grocery store for 7 bucks. Totally worth your time. (Note: the first half hour is very slow.)

Watching this really made me want to go see Niagara Falls again.
Also, don't read too many reviews and such if you want to see it... since it's so old, a lot of reviews give away some of the plot twists.

i saw it a long time ago on AMC when they showed old movies.
"Why don't you wear dresses like that?"
"You have to start at 13 to wear dresses like that."
or some such thing.

It was something like, "You have to start laying plans at 13 to wear dresses like that." Very funny, you're right.

I don't know that I'd ever seen Jean Peters in a movie before this, but she was freakin' great in this.

Oh, yeah! We rented this a couple of months ago. I do love old Joe Cotten.

I love that movie. Every year at the Falls they have a lookalike contest in the spot where she does that walk.

I've never seen this, but now I want to!
There was an interesting article in last month's Believer about Niagara Falls that is sort of built around what it means in the movie and to our culture. It contains spoilers about the film, so beware!
