Homemade bbq sauce for beef ribs? →[More:]So I've steamed some beef back ribs for dinner (after applying a coffee/cinnamon-based spice rub I bought a while back). Now I need to make a sauce to cook them in. I was thinking a soy/oj/sesame kinda thing, but am open to suggestions. I have also tomato paste, HP, worcestershire, ketchup, a few kinds of vinegar, and a metric assload of spices, but no booze, unfortunately. Suggestions?

A bottle of ketchup, some red wine vinegar, a teaspoon of mustard, brown sugar, a touch cayenne or chipotle powder, dash of worcestershire, the juice of a lemon. Texas BBQ sauce!

Something different: ginger, garlic, cayenne, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, peanut butter.

...if you're in town next week, I'll be sure to jar some of my next batch of hot sauce for you. It promises to be super-yummay! (1 chipotle, 2 ají, 1 ancho, and 1 [or two] habanero = sort of hot, but mostly rich and spicy/smoky.)

I'd already started mudpuppie's sauce before I saw ramix's. I added some garlic and a bit of molasses, but wow--yummay sauce, perfect ribs. I must to try yours next time, ramix. Spicy peanut sauce of any kind makes anything taste wonderful, and that one looks simple and delicious. Thanks!
