Online meditation resources→[More:]Anyone have experience with some good online meditation resources? I'd like to teach myself to meditate, but I'm not that edumacated on the process. I'd prefer online over print though . . .
Yoga Journal runs meditation articles every month, and most of them are online. Meditation 101 might be a good place to start -- it quickly outlines some common methods. Maybe play around and see which one appeals to you right now, then explore a bit more in depth.
Cool, that's just what I need. Well, meditation is just what I need. The idea of sitting for 10 minutes and doing nothing, thinking nothing, makes me crazy. And that's why I need it. Must find those moments of inner silence.
I tried to meditate on my own by reading books, etc, and it was a complete failure. When I visited my father-in-law at the Shambhala Mountain Center in Colorado, I decided to try a basic session and found that the person leading the session was very helpful to me. I still have a hard time sitting/practicing on my own, but after some in-person help it got easier. I don't see a Shambhala center near you, but if you get a chance consider checking it out. The website apparently has some teachings on mp3 and video.
