Pet Mystery [More:] Either the old cat is not pooping, or the middlin' aged dog has gone back after the cat poop, afer a long (since first puppyhood) hiatus.

I'd blame the dog, but we turned the covered box around, much to the chagrin of the cat, he can still find it, but it's awkward for him to get in.

I keep feeding the cat and waiting to see poops. No poops.

Both dog and cat are acting normally (batshitz).

I mean, how long could a cat go without pooping whilst eating and acting as he normally does? A week? I think not. What could this signify?

Strange Mystery.
Could the cat be pooping elsewhere?
My cat use to go outside. God, i loved him and his outside pooping ways.

Nope, he's indoors. Unless the dog and cat have worked out an I poop somewhere and I eat it cabal. But the one good thing about the old, not bright cat, is, he's into his box.

How old is your cat, rainbaby? And how long has it been since he's gone?

If it's been more than three or four days, it might me a good idea to take him to the vet. It's possible that he's lost muscle tone in his bowels and just can't get a movement going. Our geriatric cat had just that same problem the last couple of years we had him.

you don't have any piles of laundry on the floor, I hope.

He's 15-18, but why would he still eat and act normally and not be distressed? bmarkey, I should have paid more attention, I just noticed empyting the cat box (yesterday) for the trash this week that there were no poops. I'm going to give it one more day then take him in, I think.

A bit of Petromalt, which is psyllium for pets, could help make sure that the cat is pooping. But since dogs have little control over their cat poop habit, I would not put it past the dog.

Have you tried salmon oil? It's great for their fur but the first few days of eating some drops of it, it has a bit of a laxative effect.

This morning we have an artifact. This evening we shall see if the artifact is still in the catbox museum. ha HA!

I might throw some petromalt up on him, too.
