21 February 2008

Three-point injuries/aches/pains report. [More:]

1. Back aches from five days' worth of garden prep.
2. Large gouge in finger from ivy-pulling incident.
3. Softball-sized, plum-colored bruise on right butt cheek from said ivy-pulling incident.

Your turn.
1. The persistent side-stitch that I have had for almost a year, that I have thought was kidney stones, liver disease, lymphoma, and a host of other stuff is getting better. My massage therapist assured me, and showed me, the muscular skeletal origin of it. The 3 ct scans were wasted money.

2. Right knee has it's limits. . .over 30 min on the elliptical and it starts hurting. It's good for volleyball, though.

3. This space left empty, pending something else happening.

1: Ran a half marathon last Sunday in new trainers. The nails in both big toes still hurt. I hope this isn't a bad sign.

2: That's

3: All

1. I can't really talk about it.

3. Ouch.

1. left ankle perpetually achy from sprains years ago
2. right thumb suffering Winter Thumb syndrome: multiple hangnails & splits
3. that's all I have, & hopefully it will stay that way.

1. Soooooo tired. Like, unable to function in the physical plane tired. But I just had to be *very* chirpy while leading a group of 9th-grade boys, which was exhausting, and I have class until 9pm tonight, which will be even more exhausting.

2. Weird left low back thing going on. It comes and goes, and yoga helps, but I have not had time to go to yoga regularly lately.

3. My left knee is acting up today, I think because I am walking funny in an attempt not to let my shoes blister my heels. The subsequent desire to take weight off my knee seems to be exacerbating the low back thing. Stupid body and its interconnected parts.

1. Can't get my temperature under 100, which is also about the number of tissues I've used up in the last hour and the gallons of gunk I've coughed up.
2. Not even one week into my new job, and already had to take sick leave. Plus, I think I got my new supervisor sick.
3. I've almost passed out twice from coughing. Wasn't even coughing all that hard (although all my muscles ache from it).

This is the way my little adventure started out last spring, which is kind of creepy.

On the plus side, I've lost almost ten pounds since Monday.

IRFH, be careful with your cough. I separated a rib once doing that.

1. Shoulder pain is back - weather change coming.

2. Turned to speak to a coworker today, and had a nice sciatic pain shoot down my left buttock/leg.

3. On the bright side, I think my toe (ingrown nail problem) is healing!

1. A cough for the month of February
2. Arthritis of undetermined cause, which makes it really hard to walk in the morning
3. The usual shoulder and neck pain from stress

1. arm and leg ache-iness from working out.
2. mild headache behind my left eye.
3. stomachache, prolly from stress.

i just need to stop working out when i'm exhausted like this.

on the plus side, the girlfriend is coming up this weekend, so i either get better or i have someone to be nice to me.

1. I've got my usual winter skin/dry itch ALL FREAKIN' OVER so I sorta itch all over, all the time. C'mon, spring!

2 & 3. nothing else, really.
posted by BoringPostcards 21 February | 19:39
1. Residuals from migraine: slight headache, wooziness, irky tummy, lingering low-level depression
2&3: Do I really NEED anything else?

CART MASTER: 'Ere. He says he's not dead!
CUSTOMER: Yes, he is.
DEAD PERSON: I'm not!
CART MASTER: He isn't?
CUSTOMER: Well, he will be soon. He's very ill.
DEAD PERSON: I'm getting better!
CUSTOMER: No, you're not. You'll be stone dead in a moment.
CART MASTER: Oh, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
DEAD PERSON: I don't want to go on the cart!
CUSTOMER: Oh, don't be such a baby.

In our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us, through the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus

Othernthat, I'm fine.

Feel better, folks!

1) IBS has definitely been flaring up the last few days. Don't wanna eat.

2) Started going to yoga yesterday - got an unlimited month for $50 so I'm trying to go every day. My body is one big ache.

3) Slight headache. Probably would help if I ate something. See point 1.

1. Actually not feeling bad at all.
2. No aches or pains
3. Feel pretty good.

1. My flu bug is all gone except for a wee bit of residual weakness.
2. I would have thought the time off from the gym would have made my ankle feel better. Not really.
3. I'm feeling depressed but I think that happens after one is sick, so I won't freak out about it. Yet.

1. No appetite. Sucks.

2. Random sore shoulder. Think it's from my laptop bag, but I need to carry my laptop, dammit!

3. Like BP, I have the winter itchy skin. grrr!

1. Back-ache from sitting in the worst chair in the world.

2. A bit groggy from the medication I'm on.

3. Stomach's not doing too well either for some strange reason.

I feel pretty good aside from the arthritis is my hips (which can be handled with aspirin so it's really not a big deal - at this point it only bothers me on very cold days. I am also kinda sorta wondering if my thyroid is underactive. I'm going to chat with my doctor the next time I'm there about it. (This is not something that is seriously bothering me - the things that I think might be thyroid related could just as likely be one off issues of their own.) I am also going through some craptacular insomnia issues right now, too. Wow, I just read all that - the thing is - things really don't seem bad to me right now. Which means the lexapro is still working. Awesome.

The dry left eye I've had since the bout of pinkeye last June but have been told isn't related to that.
Second day cramps
Callus(wart?) on middle left toe that hasn't gone away.

1. Weird bruise on my right hand, under index finger, near wrist. I don't know what I do to get it, but I get this bruise there a lot.

2. Two burns on right hand from maneuvering a large clay pot cooker in and out of oven. I need oven mitts.

3. Feeling good and knocking on wood.

1. Occasional slight discomfort in coccyx area.
2. Some pain in right wrist, which, however, seems to be improving.
3. Mouth ulcer in right cheek.

1. Still recovering from the cold I picked up two weeks ago. Nothing much left except an occasional hard cough.

2. Apparently permanent nerve damage in my left arm; my little finger is constantly tingly, and has been for the last four months or so.

3. Knees are wicked sore from having to haul a pallet's worth of canned sauce up a rickety flight of stairs. Why store a pallet's worth of canned sauce down in a basement where it has to be carried back up the stairs to be useful? I don't know-ask the boss's stinking drunk son, who was the one who put it down there last week.

Not that I'm bitter or anything.

1. I sprained my right ankle for about the hundredth time a few weeks ago. It is still hurting and swollen. I limp around like an old woman for five minutes in the morning.

2. In the middle of the night the kids crawl in bed with us occasionally. When this happens I have about five inches for sleep space and I wake up with an aching back or neck.

3. My hands are noticeably dry and my face is breaking out.

~~ouch booty bruises are the worst

Update: I've fallen down stairs twice in the last twelve hours. Late last night going to bed due to a combo of wine, foot lotion, and slippers - and this morning going out to walk the dog due to ice. I have ouchy booty bruisey too.

1. Triceps sore from free weights workout yesterday.
2. Back sore from free weights workout yesterday and 3 mile run today and freaking awful public transit seats. Why are they SO uncomfortable???
3. TMI alert! Upped my fiber intake to try to be healthier and am now concerned about a lack of poop for, like, 48 hours and counting. Am a bit afeared of what's next.
posted by misskaz 22 February | 10:32
misskaz - the same thing happens to me when I increase my fiber intake. Give it another day or so...

1. My left foot has been hurting - in different places, mind you - quite badly, sharp shooting pains, on and off for like four months now. I think I have some kind of mysterious tropical foot disease. It's weird and it keeps flaring up and every time it's in a different place on my left foot. There is nothing visible.

2. My IBS is also flaring up; possibly another cyst on my cystic ovary is to blame; last night I had a long conversation about endometriosis and what that feels like; maybe I have that now too since it runs in the family. I love being a woman and getting older, let me tell you.

3. Is it possible that my hand lotion is actually sucking the moisture out of my skin like the salt sucking monster on the original Star Trek? I swear my skin just keeps on getting drier.

1. Where my left wisdom teeth were, ten years ago, is aching.

2. Everywhere else is okay, except:

3. Where my foot hurts from giving my boyfriend his required daily kick up the arse.

1. Left knee still aches from when I fell last February

2. Both upper arms ache (muscle area, asked doc, had xrays, he ain't gotta clue except left shoulder shows deterioration)

3. Left hip has ached off and on since I was a kid, probably due to birth defect (no hip sockets, special shoes fixed it; hip replacement surgery is probably in my future)

Do I have to stop there?

4. Neck and shoulder ache - tension and/or lack of sleep

5. Hands - arthritis aggravated by playing lots of WoW
