Damn, damn, damn. [More:]
I heard this lunchtime that a friend of mine, John, has terminal pancreatic cancer. Another friend, Dave, is dying of liver cancer. Both have young families.

This sucks more than I can say. I'm very fond of them both, particularly John - we've been good friends since the first time we met around seven years ago.

I'm so sorry.

Cancer sucks. No good thing about it. It gets far too many of us.

When I was in college, I had just started seriously dating a girl when her mother was stricken with pacreatic cancer. She was gone in a matter of weeks. It's a rough disease.

Cancer sucks so much. Unfortunately, it's all over my mom's side of the family and there's a goodly chance I'll get it at some point (and I'll admit I didn't help my chances by smoking).

My aunt got breast cancer last year and while she responded well to the chemo and radiation - the medication she has to be on for the next five years is kicking her ass and she just doesn't feel good. She approached the breast cancer like a champion but the drug she's on now is getting her down.

My mom's mom died of brain/lung cancer and it's just a horrible disease to watch. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (not that I really have enemies.)

I'm very sorry about these developments, Jan.
