1. Just got home from a great trip to N.C. While I was happy to be there, it's nice to be home with the pooches again.
2. Still trying to get rid of this cough which keeps lingering on and on.
3. Going ethnic food shopping today. Middle Eastern store for mainly tahini, but I'm sure I'll find other things I want, and to the Japanese Market for some misc. stuff and sushi fixins. mmmmmm

2. Bridge tonight - first time in a while, YAY!

3. NEWS: me and mr. gaspode will be staying in the NYC area for the foreseeable future, because he just got a real, proper, job. Only took 4y of college, 8y med/grad school, 3y residency and 2y fellowship. Phew!

1. Two days missed work, which is busy as heck, but I do believe the new toilet is finally right.

2. I need to look at stuff at the office to make sure I won't bounce a check. I've only done that once, but my new bank card looks too much like my credit card, and I debited a purchase I meant to charge.

1. It's snowing and cold as something really really cold.

2. I just bought some firewood off craigslist and I'm kind of weirdly excited: I've never bought firewood before. Hope the guy shows up tomorrow like he said he would because it's cold as something really really cold in my house too. I am tired of being cold. But he's not bringing it until tomorrow, which means I'll have to go buy more $5 firewood at the store again tonight - if I'd bought a decent damn load of wood in the first place I would have actually saved money instead of messing around trying to get it for free or believing I didn't need it to keep my house over 50 degrees.

3. Fighting with InDesign: seems to be a losing battle.

1. I'm freezing too. I have pantyhose, dress pants, button down shirt, and loafers on and I'm still freezing in this house. The air con isn't on. It's not cold outside. I'm still cold.

2. I am thrilled that I have nothing planned on my calendar this weekend. I'm overjoyed on days that I don't have to leave the house. These are my isolating ways; I have to be careful. I am perfectly content with Tivo, the immediate family, and some reading materials.

3. I have two depressing DVD's to choose from tonight: Away From Her and Stephanie Daley.

1. Feeling relatively virtuous, since I've swept the front walk and driveway AND am currently making a pasta sauce from some stuff that needs to be used. Of course, I should be napping...

2. Missing Science Girl something fierce since she started her new job. I'm glad for her sake, since she's finally doing what she's tarined to do (SCIENCE!), but I only ever see her on the weekends. That sucks. (And no one profits from my suck.)

3. Strangely fascinated by the names of hockey players. Why, the Calgary Flames alone have Dion Phaneuf, Daymond Langkow, Kristian Huselius, Stephane Yelle, Alex Tanguay, Adrian Aucoin, and Miikka Kiprusoff. At odd moments, I find myself saying "Vesa Toskala" to myself like a mantra. Try it!

1. Copying lots of local music (with permission/cds now unavailable) to take to a friend. Also finally copying that Damned cd I promised bmarkey lo these many weeks ago, so I can give it to him at the Seattle meetup.
2. Looking forward to the Seattle meetup, and to wandering aimlessly around a beautiful, sunny country
3. Realizing that a) I don't have much to whine about at all, and b) all I really need to do now is pack, which I've started doing.

1. Actually keeping up with everything at work for a change, which is a great sign of progress after 3 years trying to nail the operations of this joint down.
2. Actually eating well, exercising, planning great things, and keeping a positive outlook.
3. And yet none of that prevents me being overwhelmed by a wave of simple stupid sadness at 5:25 on a Thursday evening while sitting at my desk.

1. I've been feeling seriously ugly the past few days. Ickkkkk.

2. I'm thinking about the possibility of joining a local YMCA after seeing this AskMe. I went to the gym sporadically in college, but I know it's something I need to do. I just have to make sure my headspace doesn't fuck it up.

3. I think I've officially made myself awesome with my boss. He is leaving the whole microform section all to myself and asked me to make him a cool looking spreadsheet. (Of course, there's no raise in pay, but I've only been there a month. It isn't like fucking Rita's!)

1-Sad because buttloads of my coworkers got laid off today, even more sad that there are at least two more rounds of cuts to come.
2-Wondering if being all over the internets and having an unusual name will be a detriment if I have to start looking for a job.
3-Waiting for my toes to warm up. It's been an hour since I came inside and the cat on my lap should be enough, but her 17-pound-self just isn't enough heat.

Good for Mr. G!

1.The contractor sent me plans for what was the laundry area that aren't what I had in mind.
2.I want to go swimming, but can't because the cough from the flu still hasn't gone away.
3. I'm beyond fed up with the bullshit in my building, I want to be someplace serene, but that can't happen for at least another six weeks.

Jessamyn, where did you go for Basque? I might come up for a few days after my grandmother passes.

Occhiblu, I haven't forgotten about the shoes; I'll try to send them out next week.

It's a place called Piperade. Very good, a little spendy for my tastes ($15-25 entrees, I realize that's probably normal for most people) but nice atmosphere and delicious food.

2. Cold. Bone-chilling cold. Looking forward to finally a night at home with maybe some soup, or a pizza.

3. Sad. Mrs. tr33 is sick, can't take much for it with the baby on the way. Dealing with some personal emotional pain that I have to keep to myself. Just want to curl up in a ball and cry.
