23 January 2008

I wore a suit to work today and I have a run in my pantyhose.[More:]

What common office product can I use to stop the run? Do you think Elmer's glue will work? What about double sided sticky tape on the inside?

(It's on the back of my left thigh, so no one can see it right now, but I'm afraid it will spread too far before I can get home and take them off)

(Also, wearing a suit makes me feel powerful and RAWRR)
They always say clear nail polish helps. Glue would probably do the trick in a similar way.

White Out works. Anything that dries quickly and hardens will work...the fabric will stop unzipping when it gets to a hard spot.

Wouldn't double-sided tape just make your hose stick to your leg??

I'd go for scotch tape, on the inside.

Note: mudpuppie does not wear hose.

That's what suits are for, at least some good role play.

I would try glue or white-out.

I wore a suit yesterday. I wanted to feel RAWR, but mainly I felt constrained. I think it may have been particular to that suit, however.

Personally, I would *MeeeeOOOWWWWR* like a cat, scratch your legs ferociously, "fix" some of the resulting new runs with safety pins, and go punk for the rest of the day. But maybe that's why I'm a guy, not a lady.

OK, this is the bad part. I had to run out to walgreens last night to buy these stockings. I bought a tan pair and a black pair in the size I wore last time I wore stockings (umm...at my job interview? Almost two years ago)

This morning, I tore a huge run in the black pair trying to put them on. Then, I found the run in the tan pair while I was driving to work. Yeah, I think I've gained a few pounds in the last two years. Either that, or L'Eggs doesn't make em like they used to.

If you have any kind of aerosol spray handy, you can spray that on the run and it will stop. Old-skool aerosol hairspray is best.

Note: I have even used aerosol anti-germ spray on my pantyhose to stop runs. It works but it's not my fave scent to wear... :)

I don't think runs have much to do with weight. The damned things are always snagging and ripping. I don't understand why they became such required pieces of business clothing -- they're a pain in the ass, confer very little benefit, and generally last for about one wearing.

Argh. ARGH, I say!

I loatheloatheloathe pantyhose, which is why i refuse to wear them. I wear thigh-highs or knee sox instead. today's thigh-highs are amazing; they don't roll or fall down, even on my cyclist THIGHS O' DOOM!!!

sockdreams.com is your friend. RAWR indeed!

I dunno about thigh-highs - I'm afraid the elastic would show when I sit down...

But year, I definitely want something thicker and not all up ons my crotch.

Thanks for the sockdreams link, lonefrontranger. I despise the waist pain that comes with pantyhose. But my squishy thighs make thigh-his so not attractive.
