Take a picture of what you're doing tonight and post it here, already [More:]just because I like looking at your pictures. Inspired by Miko's post of course, and not intended to derail the excellent "My Kitchen" photo friday suggestion.
I'm making fries, but I don't have enough oil to make many at once...

A thrilling night planned chez Matthew, not. Working on the dissertation, intermittent Metachatting, rousing bit of Karg-Elert on the stereo.

That's some badass etch-a-sketchery, shane.

If I go to my art studio(s) at school tonight, I will grab boyfriend's (bonobeau's?) digitum camera and thrill you all with my lack-of-anything-awesome-at-this-stage projects.

That's a big IF: it's cold outside, I've been cleaning all day, and I'm about to chill with some boxed Cabernet and pester the intarwebs some more. It's just like this, minus the bicycle, trainer, and spandex.

Yeah, that Etch-a-Sketch is awesome! It looks like something from the future.

I'm afraid I'm having an extremely dull evening. Here is an extremely dull picture of the coding and sys-admin I'm doing:

Full size.

matthewr: What Karg-Elert are you listening to?

the thing under the lamp? thanks, Chris and Matthew. it's a Fischer-Price DoodlePro from my ex-GF, one of the most thoughtful gifts i've ever received. very fun. you can't make anything but thick lines with a magnetic pen, so it's a kind of useful exercise, too. i recommend it. give it to the artsy souls in your lives (or to yourself.)

There ain't a camera thing i can torture into use, so here is an old picture of an old thing:

We have one of those Doodle drawing pads. My daughter drew this a couple of months ago.

shane^: The first generation of magnetic sketch pads (not these) made me a sixth-grade playground rawkstar. After I ran my (voluntary) laps for exercise, I sat down on a low retaining wall at one edge of the playground and drew the buildings around the school. A small group of other kids (and teachers!) gathered to watch me draw and they got upset when I wiped the board to start a new drawing. It touches me now, but I remember being annoyed at the time. I wanted to be in my own head space at the time and didn't enjoy the "Freebird"-like requests to draw things from cartoons. Thanks for causing me to recall that. (Not sarcasm, by the way.)

chris: It was Nun Danket Alle Gott at the time. Loud organ music is great for late-night essay work! BWV 565 at the moment.

Same as desjardins. Pulling for Green Bay b/c don't want to see the Giants get buried in 2 weeks.

heh, that's a funny story, bonobo. hope i didn't bring back traumatic memories.

No worries, shane, aside from my tendencies to projectile vomit upon ferrous materials--which still draws a crowd.

Argh. Kill me before I pun again!

Same as dejardins and chewata. Plus I finished putting up the laundry, and I may change the bed at half-time.

I thought Burress would be worthless and quit in the cold, what do you know. Go Packers!

Come on Brett! Do it for Gen X! Don't send the Giants to the slaughter. Gahh.
