Famous hotels in the movies that you can actually stay in Fans of Fellini might want to stay in Grand Hotel, RiminiGrand Hotel in Rimini, Fans of Danny Boyle's Trainspotting might fancy a night in the Cordova Hotel in London ... [More:]then again fans of scarface might fancy the Fontainebleau Suites at Miami Beach (for the famous pool scene) and fans of Merchant Ivory might want a Room with a View at the Degli Orafi in Florence (ask for Room 414> ... which got me wondering ... what other famous hotels, b&bs, guesthouses and pensions have appeared in famouse movies that *you can actually stay in*?
In #bunnies the other day I mentioned the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. It's supposedly haunted, and is famous for "The Shining". It's also in a pretty beautiful spot.

The Esther Williams vehicle This Time for Keeps was filmed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island as was Somewhere in Time. Somewhere fans still meet there every summer.

The Stanley hotel was the inspiration for the book, but was only used in the miniseries remake. My mistake.

The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island was what came to mind reading this question. It's a beautiful place I wouldn't mind visiting. The book was actually set at the Hotel del Coronado which is another hotel I wouldn't mind staying at. My mum and I took an audio tour there many years ago.
