→[More:]Someone came over xmas eve to bolt a 2x4 through the wall into the brick of house, a horizontal bar from floor to ceiling behind the radiator to keep it up, and a wedge from the attached board to the opposite wall.
Today landlord and insurance guy came over. Just our luck, it's unseasonably warm and not at all windy, so they really couldn't tell how bad it is/will get when the weather takes a turn.
She wants it fixed. The insurance people are, as always, being jerky.
The landlord explained why it was done so oddly, too.
See, those windows... they are inches from the shady neighbors porch. She didn't like them being able to see in, tennants didn't like it, but we are in a historic preservation district. Can't brick over them since it would be a "significant" change to the exterior of the house, and can't do glass block since it's banned by the preservation association.
