The Return of K.I.T.T.? Really? I got this link via the thoroughly brilliant throwingstardna. [More:]His recent piece Gun Free Zones vs Armed Citizens is a pretty well-made argument. I know that his is the third LJ blog I've linked to here recently (the cream of my f-list). Sue me... there are enough lawyers here. Can't even swing a cat without hitting one :-P

p.s. They've also green-lit an A-Team movie.

Saw the news a few weeks ago. I'd say a Mini Cooper would be the only worse choice for KITT.

Oh, eamondaly - that's where you're wrong!

The choice is a Mustang. Out of currently available cars, it's probably closest to the original in that it is old-style Detroit rear wheel drive muscle, but seeing as the original KITT was a Pontiac, it just seems.... not right.

KITT's dominant characteristic isn't the muscle-car-ness, but the high-tech-ness. They oughta make it a Prius, and then new-Hasselhoff Michelle Rodriguez can drive it like a drift car.

I beg to differ; the muscle-car-ness is essential; the high-tech-ness was provided by the (scifi) add-ons.

I must respectfully disagree. They could've made KITT a high-tech Bronco and had basically the same show. But if KITT was just a regular Trans Am, there wouldn't've been a show at all (well, or it would've been, like, Hardcastle and McCormick, and then they'd've had to cast another human. Which vehicle seems like a better nemesis for KITT--a non-high-tech muscle car, or a high-tech Peterbilt with Hasselhoff-in-a-fake-moustache?

Man, between that Wikipedia Knight Rider entry and the Knight Rider YouTube clips, I'll be giggling all day.
