And I cry a lot" →[More:]Maybe I'm behind the news curve on this one but this is from a promo piece for the latest book on Dubya, Dead Certain: The Presidency of George W. Bush. Slate has more excerpts here. Regardless, it's amazing that Dubya actually said the following to someone he knew was writing a book about him:
He said he plans to "replenish the ol' coffers" by speaking on the lecture circuit, where he can make "ridiculous" money recounting his experiences.

"I don't know what my dad gets. But it's more than 50, 75 [thousand dollars]," he said. "Clinton's making a lot of money."

I am speechless.

Can you say 'attention whore'? It's no secret that this current administration is very upset that there's almost nothing they do is deemed as newsworthy as the 2008 election.

You would think such an inside look would provide a sense of the humanity of the guy, make you sympathise with him and what he has to go through as president. It did precisely the opposite. Every quote in there seems to bear out my previous impression that he is there for his own selfish purposes and he couldn't give a damn for the good of the people. He is a throwback to the days when kings ruled.

When he described the surge as "tiring" I almost lost it. Fatal for many of those involved. Tiring for him..... my heart bleeds for him. Not.
