02 December 2007

Weather Update [More:]Today: -3C/26F and another 15cm/10in of snow.

Tomorrow: 12C/54F and up to 80mm/3in of rain due to fall.

We have about 12in/30cm of snow accumulated locally. Kaylee is loving bouncing through the snow and runs along eating it.

With the weather warming so much and a Pineapple Express heading this way, the flooding is going to be something else. The mister is going to try to make it to the train tomorrow but has promised me he'll turn around if it gets too dangerous. I'm sooo glad we have a four wheel drive vehicle.

So how is it in your neck of the woods?
Wet and windy. More on the way overnight, apparently.

Windy and rainy. Not as windy as forecast, but the worst is yet to come, apparently.

It's been thunder storms and fog all day.

77 and sunny. I'm sticking my feet out the window.

46F and rainy. We're supposed to get some snow tonight and tomorrow though.

Upper 60s F and cloudy. We've had the windows open all day.

Snowing like the dickens here, too--day 2! Unheard of! Little Izzy Cross-eyes is loving her first snow. Though she's not too sure about the wet, cold paws part of it, she seems to have decided that it is outweighed by the running-around-chasing-snowflakes part. Dreading the effects of the rain on the roads tomorrow, too. Hmmm...this may put the kaibosh on work if no-one can get around.

Snowed this morning (a bit), we've got chances of it throughout the rest of the week. 30 mph gusts, and windier than hell besides.

My brother in Houston just called me asking about it; it's 65 degrees down there. That bastard.

Big storm's a'comin'! We're supposed to get hit hard over the next couple of days: deep snow and then sleet to cap it.

Little Izzy Cross-eyes is loving her first snow.

I remember moving a cat from Houston to Maine two decades ago. When I let her out after the first snowfall, she took a few hesitant steps on the snow's crust, then pointedly turned back toward me, her eyes filled with mistrust and confusion, as if to say Funny joke, kid. Now quit it.

Low 70s, sunny with occasional rain showers. Perfect December weather :)

Reporting from Portland, Maine: The weather folks are playing what my son calls the "scary storm music" and Home Depot was selling shovels and probably snow blowers. We were hustling to get the leaves bagged. Snow day tomorrow would be very welcome.

Sad to say, the news reported some deaths from this storm. Everybody drive safe, okay?

Oop. Power went out for a second. *grabs candles & flashlight, which she should've done earlier* Thank god my (Elsa/Miko's) chard is done.

What a mixed bag of weather.

It's turned to rain here. The mister swept off the Jeep so it won't, hopefully, be too bad to get going in the morning.

I'm glad the power was out only for a moment, elizard. We're keeping a flashlight, candles & matches close to hand. The mister brought in more wood to the garage in case we have a power outage and need it for heat.

I was tempted to put Oliver in his harness and take him out, but with the rain he'll have to wait for the next storm.

Rain, and about 1" of slush = rivers on the streets. It'll probably all be gone by morning. It's pretty warm right now, and supposed to get to 10oC by tomorrow.

13 F, clear skies, *strong* wind sucking the heat out of everything.
My heater hasn't cycled off for a few days.

83F and sunny, and my room is soaking up ridiculous amounts of heat to the point where I nearly burned my fingers on the windowframe.

New Jersey reporting here: Light snow dusting this morning, changed to sleet, then to rain. Cold (right now it's 33 degrees). A very damp, overcast day. Good to be indoors!

It's dreary and rainy here in Kansas. We had some periods of sun today, but not much.

48F and clear at 4:30 a.m. in Athens (I know. I have no idea why I wake up at these crazy early times, but the world is all mine and mine alone, bwahaha! Not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse.)

I just went outside and the stars dazzled me. The pretty TV weather girl says it will rain today, but the internet says it will be partly cloudy. Who will win?

aaaaaaaand it's raining. Snow's sliding off the roof onto the deck in great whumps that shake the cabin. Hello, pineapple express.

Please send me your snow. If you pack it in dry ice, it will make it just fine. I'm sick of our no-snow winter, though 25°F/-4°C is making me happy. It needs to get colder. And snow-ier.

It started raining last night and the Pineapple Express hit here with a vengeance this morning. Lots of rain and the snow is melting at a fast pace (it's almost all gone). Our only worry was flooding into the garage but the drains seem to be doing well.
