Shameless Sickness Post - A Plea For Metachat Companionship... →[More:]

I'm home sick today, with all of the attendant aches, pains, grouses, and plaints one would expect.

What I would like is your sympathy. No tea needed, however - I drink Gatorade when unwell.

My lungs, septum, haid and joints thank'ee.

Uggghhh, that sounds miserable, dude! Hope you feel better, pronto. Good job staying hydrated- now you just need entertainment to distract you from your misery.. I recommend B movies while lying on the couch. Strong cold medicine adds to the hilarity.

Man, I wish, Beeps. I tried to make it through Christmas in Connecticut last night on the couch, and ended up a mewling, twitching mess that shambled to bed about a half-hour in. Not quite a B movie, but still...

Got the Lovin' Spoonful on iTunes now, though, and if they can't cure what ills ye, nothing can.

Cat therapy and Gatorade -- can't go wrong there. Wish I could hit the library and drop off some audio books -- if you're like me when you're sick, you'd rather rest your eyes than use them.

ISTR that at a lot of athletic programs the new fad is getting away from "sports drinks" for electrolyte replacement -- instead, they're drinking pickle juice! (The pickling brine from kosher dills, I guess.) Next time I finish a jar, I might try straining the juice and drinking it after a workout.

Right now some douchewad is walking around the library stacks behind me while chain-coughing, and it's the nasty phlegmy wheezy type of cough too. Ewwww. Why don't more people follow your stellar example and stay the fuck home when they're sick?

I was sick at home yesterday. Go to bed and stay there and maybe you'll be lucky like me and get the James Bond action dream with the pink Barbie convertible and the glitter gun. It was pretty awesome. I wish I was still at home sick instead of sitting here sick (well, sick-ish) in the office today.

Thanks everyone for doing the "awww" thing. I had to do battle today with my bank over a mischarged excursion to the local pizza place. Turns out I paid for a pie that ran 165.00 bucks on the old debit card! And it was only pepperoni! That's like five bucks a pep! or something!

You have my empathy - this is day two of me staying home cos I'm sick. I think I've probably slept for over 32 hours over the past 48, and it worked! I don't feel anywhere near as bad. They were giving flu shots around at work, but I never sign up for those... don't think they're necessary, as I'd rather produce my own antibodies for flu's - I'm sure mine are more effective than ones made in a lab.

I actually do not recommend chicken noodle soup, I recommend either Italian wedding or matzo ball.
