Kids, No, Parents! Today/Bus Stop/GOML [More:]

I was walking my dog around the small, subdivision (maintained, seems safe to me) behind my house this morning. Kids were waiting at the bus stop. The bus pulls up, and some kids get out of an idling SUV and board the bus. Then the guy turns around and drives eight houses up from the bus stop to his house.

Number of kids at the stop total - 13? Weather - sunny, about 40 degrees. I know the mileage of the sub division is about .2 miles, so this guy drove, say, .04-ish miles to do this.

No, I don't know the people, or the circumstances, but come on Dad, walk the kids to the bus stop if that's what you're going to do.

Aww, and I thought you were paging me.

Well, maybe they are Kids of someone famous, like the pope, and they need to be chauffeured in a bullet proof vehicle. Then, once they are on the bus that's good enough camouflage for them to fit in...

Witness protection program?

She's coming around. Now she needs exercise and to learn to trust the leg.

At lest she's getting exercise and not conspicuously burning gas. I'm sure dude thinks he is being kind, but what the heck? I'm not Green by a long shot, but wow - emissions? Childhood inactivity? Pope's kids (good one eekacat) can't walk half a block?

Maybe he didn't come from the house. Maybe he took them all out for breakfast.

I know there are a bunch of maybes, hellbient. It was just so odd. Maybe Masha n' me will recon the situation to see if a pattern is in place.

It's not rare. I see it allll the time here. There's always a phalanx of SUVs waiting at the entrance of the various McMansion developments around drop-off time.

I will admit that I have backed the car down to the edge of the driveway on super rainy mornings so my kid didn't have to wait in the rain, though. It sucks to go through the day in sopping clothes.

I've seen worse. I watched a bus stop in front of a McMansion on my way to work one morning. After the middle-to-high school student (yes, just one) got out of his mom's minivan and onto the bus, the mom BACKED UP the driveway to park!!!!

Actually, since the kids are the pope's kids, their SUV must be the popemobile. So from now on, I'm calling my (compact) SUV the popemobile. In which I haul around the pope dogs Silver and Saffron.

They do this in my neighborhood too (it's just a bit farther to walk) and it drives me up the wall.

Walking up the hill isn't going to hurt your precious snowflake, fuck.
