Vandals! →[More:]I love this old cottage. All over Stratford old buildings are being razed to make way for new blocks of flats, developers cashing in on the 2012 Olympics. The Olympic Village and the stadium will be in Stratford.

A few years ago when the Central Line was suspended, I used to drive to Angel Lane and walk to Stratford station where I'd pick up another train to the office. I walked past this cottage every day and marvelled that it had managed to survive the Luftwaffe and the 60s 'improvement' of the area. I'd wonder about the people who'd lived there over the past two centuries.

Now it's gone. Although the council says it'll make the developer reinstate it, it won't be the same.
