I blame you all for my singing outburst. [More:] The phrase "he's coming in on the evening train" came up in conversation last night, and I found myself belting out
My baby takes the morning train
He works from 9 to 5 and then
He takes another home again...

Yes, the whole song. Who knew that was in my memory somewhere? Also, I did a little dance with it.

I blame bunnies
for my 80s outburst.

And with that, I say good day, as I leave to prepare for a Very Important Meeting.
That thread is very so awesome.

Elsa! NO! You are now on my list! I had that earworm in my head

all

last

week...

got infected with it from some awful store that I was in and couldn't escape...

And, I finally had it out of my head.

until

now.

*whimper*

Well, I've had "Queen of Hearts" in my brain for about a week now. Shall I type out the chorus lyrics to replace one infection with another? I shall? Very well:

Playing with the queen of hearts,
knowing it ain't really smart
The joker ain't the only fool
who'll do anything for you

Need earworm relief? Try:

Joan was quizzical; studied pataphysical
Science in the home.
Late nights all alone with a test tube.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.

Maxwell Edison, majoring in medicine,
Calls her on the phone.
"Can I take you out to the pictures,
Joe, oh, oh, own?"

But as she's getting ready to go,
A knock comes on the door.

Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Came down upon her head.
Bang! Bang! Maxwell's silver hammer
Made sure that she was dead.

I have returned from my Very Important Meeting, and I have two things to add:

1) After casting an eye over the lyrics to "Morning Train," I correct myself. I didn't perform the entire song, just variations of the (various) choruses.

2) Hugh, I'd like to shake your hand for "Silver Hammer." Before this moment, I only had two options effective enough to eradicate an earworm, and in at least on case the cure was as bad as the disease.*

*I'll share them only upon request, and only with the proviso that I'm not responsible for ill effects.

Elsa, the pleasure was all mine. Do share your killer earworms: mine, in case of Silver Hammer failure, is the Bee Gee's "How Deep Is Your Love." That can stick in my head for years.

Okay.

I feel obscurely bad for this.

The first is "Space Oddity," which is fine, but startlingly effective.

The second (I'm so sorry, look away now!) is Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner." Not so much the lyrics as the beat. You know it. I am SITting at the COUNTer of the DINer on the CORNer, da da DAH da, da da DAH da, da da DAH da da da da.

I'd almost rather have Juice Newton in my brain (which I have since last night, but thanks anyway Wolfdaddy).

"Don't cry for me Argentina" pretty much erases anything that's in my head. At all.

*ahem*

*tap tap tap*

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world.

Also:

"By Mennen!"
