and that would be Apartment Therapy

I love that wall with the flourish on it....mmmm.

I'm voting; looks like most entries so far are mostly "long shot" votes. Ouch! But I know Apartment Therapy people are brutal...

It's weird looking at other people's homes... to me, a lot of them look so full of STUFF.

Now I'm tempted to enter, although I'm scared to hear what the commenters might say....

That site gives me major inferority complex. My place is pretty cool, I mean, I like it and all. But those are all so Pottery Barn Crate and Barrel, I suspect their dishes alone cost more than my entire kitchen redecoration last year.

Yeah, the apartment therapy people are brutal. I love how the comments turn critical on this entry. The person may have bought every item from the Crate and Barrel catalog, but how could anyone dis "Jason's Lofty View"?

I just posted a comment on that one- I wasn't that impressed with the colors. It's the APARTMENT that is gorgeous. Jealous. Le sigh.

Apartment Therapy depresses me, because their idea of a "cheap makeover" involves many thousands of dollars, or at the very least many hundreds. My definition of cheap is more like under $75. My couch cost me $50, my bed $80, my desk and chair $100, and any decoratives I have were given to me for Christmas or my birthday. I look at those homes and think, "Wow, cool, but seriously, you don't have -anything- better to do with your time and money? Because now I have to hate you for that as I go off to work my 16-hour nights and return home too exhausted to do anything more than maybe pick up the floor and vacuum."

There are some beautiful places there. This one is just heinous, though.

I like some of the apartments, but the photography is poor... one needs a wide lens to do interiors.

BP, I have to agree with you.

I love the anti-depressive kitchen; I'm all about a cheerful kitchen.

I really like this space, but I get the feeling that as soon as you have the tiniest bit of clutter, it's going to look like total chaos. I'm also not 100% onboard with the green wall... I would probably go a little darker:

Oh, and that coffee table? DO WANT. Also, the couches. Yes.

Re: the kitchen taz linked to - I have a fair bit of (new) Fiestaware but I think they've gone a wee bit overboard. However, I love the idea behind the whole thing. Too bad my kitchen is too tiny to really do it up like that.
