I both ♥ and hate Circuit City at the moment. Nintendo DS players, read the MI, please.[More:]So CC has a sale right now, buy one game, get one for half off. I've maintained that I would wait until the Zelda game for DS comes out before I'd buy anything new, but damn, I'm tempted.

I'm thinking (if I can find them in stock) that I'll buy 2 out of 3 of PuzzleQuest, the NYTimes crossword game, or the new Sonic game. Anyone have any advice?
When does the Zelda DS game come out? I've been playing New Super Mario Bros. and it's really fun, but it has one annoying thing related to saving the game.

I have a Sonic DS game and found it a bit hard to play, it just moves to fast for me.

The new Zelda comes out Oct. 1, drezdn, and it's getting fanstastic reviews. I'm a big fan of the line anyhow, but when it get compared to Ocarina of Time, well, I'm buying the hype. It'll likely also get my SO playing DS for the first time (well, she dabbled in Brain Age for a little bit last year, but not much).

I have a Sonic DS game and found it a bit hard to play, it just moves to fast for me.

I had a little trouble adjusting to Tony Hawk Downhill Racer's speed, but eventually caught up to it, but that may just be because the touchscreen didn't really come into play. I can't imagine Sonic would have much of a touchscreen issue in play, but I could be wrong?

Check out Hotel Dusk, its pretty cool. I'm assuming you already have Mario Kart DS, but if you don't, pick it up too. The Castlevania games for DS are fun as well. If you're not squeamish, check out Trauma Center too. I am a DS junkie.

Here's a list from MetaCritic of all the games available for DS, sorted by review scores.

Yeah, I've got Mario Kart and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (both of which I highly recommend). I may check out Hotel Dusk, just for something different.

I'm not a junkie, just a casual gamer, but damn if I'm not sucked in by this sale.

I've sworn not to buy any new stuff until I'm done with Final Fantasy 3, but I'm having too much fun tanking around with a level 99 red mage to finish. So damn cute augh.

I've beaten Puzzle Quest DS (which is basically Bejeweled married to the levelling mechanics of an RPG). It's very, very addictive.

If this is also a general recommendation thread, the most addictive game I've played on the DS (with the possible exception of Advance Wars Dual Strike) is Slitherlink, which has to be imported. The menus are the only part of the game in Japanese, and you can sort out their functions pretty quickly with no knowledge of the language. I played it every day for at least two months, I think.

Puzzlequest is crack, though when I finished it off the first time I felt kind of like, well, hey, that was that. Still, it was a great, can't-put-it-down time, and I could see having another manic runthrough after some time apart.

Hotel Dusk is a good time, though you'll probably need to hit Gamefaqs once or twice.

Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is just about the best action/adventure platformer I've ever played in my life.

The bulk of my DS-playing time is probably spent with Bomberman games and (GBA) Scrabble and Pocket Music. What kind of games do you usually enjoy, ufez?

and (GBA) Scrabble

Oh, sweet. I didn't know there was a GBA Scrabble. They just released a Scrabble for DS in Europe and Australia yesterday, and I was really pissed that they didn't release a US version (yet, at least). I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

What kind of games do you usually enjoy, ufez?

Oh, I'm all over the place in what i assume is a totally typical fashion. Love the Mario games and Mario Kart, love Yoshi's Island (but that may just be because I loved it on 64), Castlevania, as alluded to earlier, Tony Hawk games, etc. I'm just looking for something to play to while away some time casually. Sounds like PuzzleQuest is definitely in my future.

I have yet to play a Castlevania game I did not like. I really do wish they had just made a true Symphony of the Night sequel instead of the games they have made for the PS2 though.

I want Puzzle Quest and a few other games but I'm broke at the moment so I shall ignore this sale. I need to save my spending cash to upgrade my comp this winter anyway and I still haven't bought a Wii so I have yet to play Zelda or the new Metroid game either.
